About

Muthiah Muralidaran is widely regarded as the greatest wicket-taker in the history of cricket — a bowler of extraordinary skill and longevity whose records have yet to be surpassed.

The Sri Lankan off-spin bowler retired from Test cricket in 2010 as the highest wicket-taker in both Test matches (800 wickets) and One Day Internationals (534 wickets) — records that stand to this day.

His unique bowling action and mastery of spin bewildered batsmen across the world for more than two decades. He played a central role in Sri Lanka's rise as a cricketing powerhouse and is celebrated across the Asian cricketing world as one of the sport's all-time greats.
