The Asian Awards held its ninth ceremony in April 2019 — and then, by design, went quiet. What followed was not absence but reflection.
When the world was brought to a standstill by Covid-19, any thought of staging a live event was impossible. But even before the pandemic, we had already begun to ask ourselves a harder question: not when to return, but how.
Nine editions at Grosvenor House had established The Asian Awards as the pre-eminent celebration of Asian excellence. But for the 10th — a landmark — we wanted to do something genuinely different. A London ballroom, however grand, no longer felt like enough.
We wanted the right country. The right venue. The right moment. And we wanted to bring together the right people — partners, sponsors and supporters who share our belief that Asian excellence deserves to be celebrated at the very highest level. That takes time to build. We took that time.
India in 2026 is the world's most compelling story. The fastest-growing major economy on earth. A nation of 1.4 billion people that is reshaping global business, science, culture and diplomacy. Mumbai — its financial and creative capital — is the only city that could do justice to the scale of this moment.
